Use of Water Main Idea in SA

SA is a water scarce country: there is not enough water to meet the needs of all the people in the country, especially as the population begins to grow.

Who?

Many parts of the country are dry for long periods of time. Other places receive most of the year's rainfall in a few months (heavy thunderstorms).

Complex system of rivers, dams & pipes to store & distribute water across the country. SA also imports water from Lesotho.
