• This is the first book to be based on transcriptions of Pete Seeger speaking, allowing readers to ‘hear’ these stories in his own voice as he takes us on a journey through his life and times and tells us about the things he valued and the people he admired.

• The book is split into a number of short sections which, while loosely chronological, can be read in any order. Its stories are complemented by poignant historical photographs and beautifully contextualized through introductions and asides by Seeger’s friend and producer David Bernz and commentary from well-known musicians and friends.

• Published ahead of the release of a major Hollywood biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan and prominently featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as Seeger. The film, due for release in late 2024, is sure to reignite interest in folk music in general and Seeger and Dylan in particular.
