What works to catch fish one day might not work the next. The spring-fed waters of Missouri’s four trout parks will undergo changes throughout the year due Fto weather conditions and spring levels. To ensure success, methods will have to change as the stream changes. Trout are unique to the sport-fishing world and no single technique can be expected to produce success on a daily basis. While there are numerous ways to catch trout, the most basic of methods can prove to be the most productive. The four methods provided are an excellent starting point.Basic Equipment NeededYou will need a hand net to land a trout. Trout can easily break the light line when pulled out of the water. Make sure you have a stringer and have it identified with your name and address. Hemostats are a great tool to remove a swallowed hook. Waders or waterproof boots are a good idea but remember that some parks allow wading while others do not. Make sure you know the regulation for your park. A fishing vest is a good investment because it allows you to carry the essentials with you.
