At present the terrestrial heat flux is 45-50 TW, and most seems to emanate from the crust and mantle. The radioactive decay from uranium and thorium series and the potassium 40 can explain 30-35 TW ; however, there is still a "hidden" source of heat. A natural nuclear reactor, called the georeactor, with a power output of 3- 10 TW at the centre of the Earth innercore could be the answer. It could also be the solution of the earth's magnetic field puzzle. It can be tested using an antineutrinos detector. If thegeoreactor is detected, the standard planetary hypothesis about the origin of the Solar System perhaps should bemodified.
