Go to File New Family2. Select a family template file.• ThThere is a large list of template ffililes to choose from. TTh hey are based offff of the Component type (electrical equipment, Lighting fixtures, etc) and hosting type.• There are two general hosting types, Hosted and non-hosted. Non-hosted devices stay where you put them regardless of what happens to walls, ceilings, etc. Mechanical equipment is generally non-hosted (except ceiling mounted diffusers).
