Challenges in Multi-System Multi-Frequency GNSS Receiver DesignA tutorial proposal forThe Second International Conference on Advances in Satellite and Space CommunicationsSPACOMM 2010, June 13-19, 2010 - Athens, GreeceAbstractThere are several new systems emerging in the Global Navigation Satellite Systems era. The US GPSsystem is under modernization, the European GALILEO has established ramp-up plans, the RussianGLONASS is going to be restored, and China has its own plans on the global Beidou/Compass navigationsystem. In addition, there are national satellite systems planned, e.g., in Japan and India, and theestablished continental geostationary WAAS and EGNOS augmentation systems. These all set newchallenges to positioning receiver design, as multiple frequencies, modulations, message protocols, andsystem parameters have to be coped with.
