Although there are theories predicting overcharging of poly-electrolyte complexes, the driving forces are still under debate and systematicexperimental studies on single polyelectrolytes remain challenging. Thereforethe question arose if it is possible to analyze single polyelectrolyte complexes, using DNA and dendronized polymers, with the scanning force microscope inorder to investigate the complexation in detail.
