Academiei 14, 010014 Bucarest, RoumanieAuteur correspondant: Ieronim MIHĂILĂ, e-mail: mihaila@math.math.unibuc.roDuring the solar eclipse of 3 October 2005, the Allais effect was studied at University of Bucharest, using a Foucault pendulum and an Allais pendulum. The motion of the oscillation plane of the firstpendulum was slower during the eclipse, the deviation of the observed curve of the azimuth from thecalculated curve reaching approximately 1.1° in the neighbourhood of the maximum of the eclipse. On the other hand, during the eclipse the angular velocity of the oscillation plane of the Allaispendulum was variable. After the beginning of the eclipse the velocity decreased, reaching theminimum value of 2° / 15 min in the neighbourhood of the maximum, and afterwards increased andbecame again the velocity of 2.6° / 15 min corresponding to the Foucault effect. Thus the Allais effectwas confirmed.Key words: Foucault effect, Allais effect, eclipse, ...
