One focus of PennFuture’s work is to improve and protect water resources and water quality throughout the Commonwealth through public outreach and education, advocacy and litigation. PennFuture has been actively engaged in Pennsylvania’s processes related to the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). Currently, Pennsylvania is preparing its Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP). PennFuture participates on both the Agricultural Workgroup and the Urban/Stormwater Workgroup for the Pennsylvania WIP. As a member of the WIP Agricultural Workgroup, PennFuture was given an opportunity to comment on Pennsylvania’s Proposed Chesapeake Bay Agricultural Water Quality Initiative (Initiative), which contains the framework for Pennsylvania’s agricultural strategy for the WIP.
