Dezember 2010AbstractThe Drell–Yan-like production of Z bosons is of great importance at hadron colliderssuch as the LHC. Not only it plays an important role as standard candle, but it is alsoan important background in the high-energy region to the possible production of extraneutralgaugebosons. Inaddition, itmightevenallowforanindependentdeterminationof the effective weak mixing angle with a precision comparable to measurements at+the e e colliders LEP and SLC. With the experimental accuracy that is aimed for atthe LHC and that has already been reached at the Tevatron, a profound theoreticalunderstanding of strong and electroweak radiative corrections and a thorough estimateof the remaining theoretical uncertainties are mandatory. In this work we provide the complete next-to-leading order radiative correctionswithin the Standard Model, supplemented by the leading higher-order electroweak cor-rections.
