Januar 2011IIIAbstractCurrently, theLargeHadronCollider(LHC)atCERNinGenevaacceleratesprotons√up to an energy of 3.5TeV resulting in collisions of a center-of-mass energy of s =7TeV. To study the production ofb-quarks in proton-protoncollisions is part ofthephysics program of the ATLAS experiment, which is one of the experiments at theLHC. The b-quarks produced in the hard scattering of the protons are measured asjets in the ATLAS detector. The aim of this PhD thesis is to study prospects of adifferential p b-jet cross section measurement in the jetp range ofp > 30GeV.T T TjetThis study is based onsimulated Monte Carlo(MC)dataassuming acenter-of-mass√energy of s= 10TeV.The trigger selection is based on a combination of single jet triggers consideringthe different prescale factors of the different jet triggers. The MC data samplescontain signal b-jets and background jets from other QCD physics processes in theproton-protoncollision.
