Dezember 2008AbstractSystems biology seeks to model biological networks dynamically. Two require-ments need to be fulfilled for this to be possible. First, the interaction networksneed to be known. Second, the dynamics of the interactions have to be revealed.Dynamics of interactions are described by rate laws using kinetics. These kinet-ics describe the interaction mechanism. For each single interaction occurring ina biological network parameters have to specified. They have to be measured byexperiments. For enzyme catalysed reactions, for example, the parameters are mea-sured by enzyme assays tracking the consumption of substrate. For many enzymesparameters and kinetic mechanism are not known. And existing data for parame-ters generally are of poor quality.
