This model isdeveloped in the framework of the Cassini–Huygens mission to the Saturnian system andposterior Huygens probe landing on Titan in early 2005. The model is capable of solvingthe mono–chromatic radiative transfer equation in full spherical geometry. The algorithmis initialized with a 1–D doubling & adding scheme and the multi–dimensional problemis effectively solved by the method of characteristics. Polarization is considered by usingthe four Stokes parameters and the 44 scattering phase matrix.
