Apologies for Absence Dr K Shanmugaratnam, Dr Veeravahu, Dr Arayanayagam 3. Minutes of the last meeting The group agreed that the minutes reflect an accurate record of the last meeting. 4. Recommendations raised by the group on the schedule of the cervical cytology audit result and the NHSCSP guidelines. All women newly diagnosed with HIV should have a baseline cervical cytology. To offer initial colposcopy for all new patients especially patients with low CD4 count. Annual cytology should be performed on all patients with HIV diagnosis. The result of each smear should be documented in the HIV case notes regardless of where the test is carried out. Patients who have their cervical smear done at their GP surgery their GP needs to be aware of their HIV status to do an annual smear. Annual cervical smear carried out at GUM clinics needs to be supported by a recall system. The NHS cervical screening programme recommended starting cervical smears at the age of 25.
