Thewall structures are discussed within a micromagnetic model and the corresponding modelparameters are obtained ab initio by electronic-structure calculations.The inclusion of the Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction in these investigations is a newaspect. This interaction arises only in certain crystal symmetries, it is of particular im-portance in the studied ultrathin magnetic films deposited on non-magnetic surfaces.
