L'histoire des manuels scolaires connaît depuis 1960 un remarquable essor. La constitution d'un instrument bibliographique informatisé pratiquement exhaustif, la banque de données EMMANUELLE 5, permet aujourd'hui de cerner avec précision la production scientifique du domaine. L'article traite de l' importance quantitative de cette production, de ses caractéristiques principales et de ses évolutions majeures. Le développement de certains secteurs encore peu exploités passe par la diffusion de l'information scientifique disponible et par une collaboration interdisciplinaire.
Die Geschichte des Schulbuchs stofit in der Forschung seit 1960 auf beachtliches Interesse. Die Erstellung einer fast vollständigen Fachbibliographie und ihre Erfassung auf Datenträgern in Gestalt der Datenbank EMMANUELLE 5 ermöglicht inzwischen einen präzisen Ueberblick über die wissenschaftliche Produktion innerhalb dieses Sachgebietes. Der Beitrag skizziert den zahlenmäßigen Umfang dieser Forschungsaktivitäten und zeigt ihre wesentlichen Merkmale und wichtigsten Entwicklungen auf. Für die Aufarbeitung einzelner bisher kaum beachteter Teilbereiche sind der Austausch von Informationen sowie eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit unverzichtbar.
Since 1960, the history of schoolbooks has known a wonderful boom. Setting up a computerized bibliographical instrument which is almost exhaustive, the data base EMMANUELLE 5 makes it possible today to determine precisely the scientific output of that field. The article deals with the quantitative importance of that output, its main characteristics and its outstanding evolutions. The development in some areas which are still rarely put to use, is subjected to the circulation of the available scientific information and to a cross-curricular partnership.
