The transport of tracegases, thescavengingofsoluble trace gases, andthe in uences oflightning producednitrogen oxides (NO =NO+NO ) on the local ozone-related photochemistry werex 2investigated in a multi-day case study for an oceanic region located in the tropicalwestern Paci c. Model runs considering in uences of large scale ows, previouslyneglected in multi-day cloud resolving and single column model studies of tracertransport,yieldedthatthein uenceofthemesoscalesubsidence(betweenclouds)ontrace gas transport was considerably overestimated in these studies. The simulatedvertical transport and scavenging of highly soluble tracers were found to dependon the initial pro les, reconciling contrasting results from two previous studies.
