Holographic Renormalization of Fake SupergravitiesNatalia BorodatchenkovaMunc hen 2009Holographic Renormalization of FakeSupergravitiesDissertation der Fakult at fur PhysikderLudwigs-Maximilians-Universit at Munc henvorgelegt vonNatalia Borodatchenkovaaus St.-Petersburg, Ru landMunc hen, September 2009Referent: Dr. Michael HaackKoreferent: Prof. Dr. Dieter LustTag der mundlic hen Prufung: 30.10.20091AbstractThe string/gauge theory correspondence allows to calculate correlators in certain strongly coupledgauge theories via solving the equations of motion of supergravity (SUGRA). In this work wepropose a method to calculate correlators for theories with logarithmically running gauge couplings, which corresponds to a logarithmically wrapped bulk-metric on the gravity side. One of the mostprominent examples is the Klebanov-Strassler background, for which calculations were carried out. However, the proposed method is more general in nature and is applicable for all theories thatare known as "fake" SUGRA theories. Such "fake" SUGRA theories allow for BPS domain-wallsolutions, which are the holographic duals of renormalization group ows. It would be a dauntingtask to nd the full counterterms for such general theories. Thus, at present we content ourselveswith calculating the 2-point function and to some extent the 1-point function.
