High Precision Spectroscopyon Beams of Atoms and DimersVon der Fakult¨at fur¨ Mathematik und Physik derGottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universit¨at Hannoverzur Erlangung des Grades einesDoktors der NaturwissenschaftenDr. rer. nat.genehmigte DissertationvonDipl.-Phys. Dulieu, d.r.Tag der Promotion: 30.01.2007AbstractThis thesis is concerned with long range behavior of the interaction potential of twoneutral atoms. Two aspects are of special interest: First, how the long range behaviorchanges if one of the atoms is replaced by another isotope. Second, how to model theinfluence of a laser field on long range interaction.Several high precision spectroscopy experiments on particle beams are carried out.39,40,41The transition frequencies of the D lines of K are measured with frequency combgenerated by a self-referenced femtosecond laser, which is locked to a Cs-clock. Discrep-ancies in the literature are removed and new values for the hyperfine structures of the4p and 4p state and the isotope shift of both D lines are derive.1/2 3/21 +OnabeamofpotassiumdimerstheA Σ stateofK isstudieduptothedissociation2ulimitcomplementingandextendingphotoassociationspectroscopyofultracoldensembles.3Local perturbation due to the spin-orbit coupling with the b Π state are identified.
