Due to the high incidence and prevalence of this pathology, it has enormous socio-economic consequences. The varying degrees of severity also mean that the condition has a massive impact on patients’ quality of life. This dissertation gives a comprehensive and critical review of current literature and studies on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification and treatment of chronic hand eczema.
