Announcements Mayor Wharton is the featured speaker for the 2010 Engineers Week Banquet Engineers Week Activities Saturday, February 13, 2010 – MJEC Student Contest As part of its Engineers Week Activities in February, the Memphis-Area Joint Engineers Council JANUARY 2010 sponsors a contest for Middle School and High School students in the Greater Memphis Metropolitan Community. It is an opportunity for students to express their creativity and demonstrate their ingenuity by working on concept projects designed to improve our quality of life. The contest is held on Saturday morning at Southwest Tennessee Community College. The contest objective is to present a product that could be used to benefit society. This could involve inventing something, modifying something to make it more useful or better, or finding January Meeting Announcement another use for something that normally would be discarded. SEPTEMBER 2009 Volunteers are needed to judge the projects.
