Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics Beginners Guide to SAS & STATA software Developed by Vahé Heboyan Supervised by Dr. Tim Park Introduction The purpose of this Guide is to assist new students in MS and PhD programs at the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics at UGA to get started with SAS and STATA software. The guide will help beginning users to quickly get started with their econometrics and statistics classes. This guide is not designed to be a substitute to any other official guide or tutorial, but serve as a starting point in using SAS and STATA software. At the end of this guide, several links to the official and unofficial sources for advanced use and more information will be provided. This guide is based on the so-called pre-programmed canned procedures.
