Painter 4-5 Underwater Tutorial Open a new file and set at 500 X 600 PPI at 72 PPI. In the Objects:Floater List palette (1) click on the words Floater/Floater Portfolio… or press Ctrl + 7, the Objects:Floater (2) palette appears. In the Objects:Floater palette click on the word Hand in the Floater Popup window. The Open dialog box appears. Select Undr_wtr.POR and click on the Open button. In the Objects:Floater palette select the Sky_9 icon and drag it onto the painting background. Place it at the top of your painting. Select either Mtn_2 or Mtn_3 as your floater and place it so you have something that looks like this (3). To create the surface water press the ‘R’ key to access the Rectangular Selection tool or go to the Tools (4) palette and chose the middle (square) icon in the bottom row. The top 1/3 of your painting should look something like this (5). With the Floater Adjuster tool click once to turn this into a floater. Already we can begin to run into confusion with our painting. When we look at our list of floaters in the Objects:Floater List palette (6) and see Floaters 1,2 and 3 listed, In a few minutes we will have 3 or 4 more floater added to this list. Double click on the blue bar named Floater1. The Floater Attributes dialog box (7) will appear. Type in the work Sky and click OK. Name the others Mountan and Surface.
