10: Design and Desktop PublishingUsing PageMakerYou will be expected to become reasonably adept at using PageMaker, the school’s desktop publishprogram. The following is McTutor, designed both to help you get through the initial stages oflaying out a page and also to provide some information that is at the “intermediate level.” It will beavailable on the MAC computers in the computer room. Try to follow these steps as carefully asyou can. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Try to do this on your own. You will be able to learn theprogram well if you keep at it. There is a lot of trial and error involved in laying out a page. It canbe like fitting pieces into a jigsaw puzzle. No matter how frustrating it is, when you succeed youcan see what you have accomplished, and this can be very satisfying.Note: You should save several times along the way.
