GUIDANCE NOTEFOR MAKING COMMENTS ON THE OLDHAM REPLACEMENT UNITARYDEVELOPMENT PLAN REVISED DEPOSIT OCTOBER 2003This note provides guidance to any person or organisation wishing to make a comment on the proposed changescontained within the Revised Deposit of the Replacement Unitary Development Plan (UDP) and briefly explainswhere the Revised Deposit stage fits in to the review of the UDP.THE UDP REVIEWConsultation on planning issues was undertaken in Spring 2000 and comments from the public and organisationswere considered in drafting the Replacement UDP. The Council’s first draft of the Replacement UDP, known asthe “First Deposit UDP”, was published for public comment during Autumn 2001. The revision to that, knownas the “Revised Deposit UDP”, has now been placed “on deposit”, meaning that it is publicly available for peopleto read and comment on, for a period of six weeks from Wednesday 22 October to 5 pm on Wednesday 3 December2003. Any comments must be received by the end of this period.The Revised Deposit UDP is a very important stage in the review. It offers the opportunity for people to commenton the changes proposed by the Council to the First Deposit UDP and to withdraw their objections made to it ifthe proposed changes satisfy their original objections.HOW TO COMMENTAnyone may formally object to, or support, proposed changes in the Revised Deposit UDP using the officialcomment forms.
