JUNE 2009 COMMENT SUMMARY Introduction In June 2009, 91 comments were submitted to the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Program. The bullet points below were extracted from the June comments. Transportation: This category includes comments related to traffic, connections/circulation, pedestrians and bicycles. In June, there were 15 comments in this category. Below is a sampling. • Have you completed an origins and destinations traffic study for the existing viaduct? • How will you mitigate the increased traffic from the bored tunnel’s north portal around the surface streets at the Seattle Center neighborhoods? • With the bored tunnel, there seems to be less throughput possible – we need more access, not less.
