FEBRUARY 2009 COMMENT SUMMARY Introduction In February, 76 comments were submitted to the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Program. Comment Categories We have six comment categories: transportation, design/construction, economic, transit, environmental/public safety and structures/locations. Each comment submitted is categorized by the content of the message. Please note that some comments fit into more than one category, while others do not fit into any of the categories. The bullet points below were extracted from the February comments. Transportation: This category includes comments related to traffic, connections/circulation, pedestrians, and bicycles. In February, there were 8 comments in this category. Below is a sampling. • We need at least three lanes each way along the waterfront. • Although access to SR-99 from Ballard and Magnolia will be somewhat negatively affected by the deep bored tunnel plan, I believe it is the right move for Seattle’s future mobility. • There should be more on- and off-ramps.
