World Of Warcraft Mastery – Gold Making Guide Introduction Everyone that plays WoW wants to know how to make gold, and lots of it! We are going to give you insider secrets on how to make TONS of gold really fast! No more worried over how you will pay for that epic mount or how you will buy supplies for a trade skill. You will have more money than you need to enjoy anything you want to do in the game. Not to mention, saving up comes in handy when you see a rare item you really want in the Auction House. 

And while we are here on the topic of gold, let’s discuss some ways NOT to make gold. For one, do not buy your World of Warcraft gold with real-world money. We’ve probably all heard of those auctions on eBay and other auctions sites and websites. First off, this is strictly again Blizzard rules and anyone caught may have their accounts cancelled. This goes for buying in-game items with real-world money as well. All gold, items and more are property of Blizzard and are not meant to be bought or sold.  On a second note, many people see this to be cheating. Why buy something when the point of the game is to play and earn it? We’re going to tell you so many great ways to make gold you would never need to actually spend money on it! So now that we have that out of the way, read on! 

Playing the Auction House We are going to talk a bit about the art of playing the market. If you have ever spent anytime on online auction sites like eBay, then you get a feel for how this works. Well, it is very similar in World of Warcraft Auction Houses. People come to buy and sell stuff. 

World Of Warcraft Mastery – Gold Making Guide  If you want to sell and make money, you have to think like your buyer. Why are they buying from the AH? Often players buy items they can not otherwise find, rare items, or extremely hard to get items. Sometimes they might buy for the sheer convenience of it. For example, let’s say you are trying to level up your skill one more time with your trainer in Orgrimar and you realize you are short a needed trade item. Well, you wanted to go ahead and get that next level before you go back out hunting again. So you might just run in the AH and see if someone has it.  Often people buy items because they need/want them right now and don’t feel like waiting for them. This is another reason for understanding the Buyout option. You always want to give people the option to bid or to buy now. Very often people will pay more for an item they want if they can buy it right away and not have to wait for the auction to end or worry about being outbid. This means more money for you as well so go ahead and add your buyout price. 

Build Yourself a Pet Store  You’ve seen those people walking around with slithering snakes, cuddly kittens, robotic creatures, parrots and more following them around. But how much do you really know about the pets and where they come from? Well, most players do not know that much about them or where to get them and you can make some good money from buying pets and them selling them in the AH.  Rare pets sell even better so if you have pets from the Horde that you can sell to Alliance and vice versa, you will really rake in the dough. Keep an eye out for those pets and see how the money will roll in for these crazy critters. 

Good, Old Fashioned Grinding  We know you have probably heard it before, but nothing beats just getting out there and playing. Sometimes grinding can be the best way to level and to make money. When you stay in the same spot hunting, the chances of getting a rare item go up. Also, when you put in some hard core grinding, you will make good money even selling regular old drops. You will see the cash start to add up as well as your level and you certainly appreciate it. This is a good idea for when you are playing alone or if other people in your guild are not only. Just set out to a good grinding spot and let yourself go for awhile. Quest Items  Another great way to make money is with quest items. Any quest items that do not bind on pickup, you can go get and then sell to other players who need them. There are quests that require you to get many pages of a document and it can be very time consuming to collect these. Or someone may be missing only one or two pieces and they are tired of looking for it and will just buy it from you if you have it.  This is a great way to get money. You can also make money from your services. For example, guiding people on quests or helping them complete it by fighting, healing, etc will earn you some dough from many people. You can help lower level characters. You can also run through lower level instances just to collect the loot and make money. This works when helping other people with quests as well, as long as you are polite about picking things up.

Nerfed Items  When an item is nerfed, it is removed from the game and no longer becomes available from drops, etc. However, Blizzard will not take it away from people that already have it. People will pay very good money for items that have been nerfed. Keep this in mind and also stay up to date on all the latest updates and mods from Blizzard so you know what is going on. Sets  As you may know, there are many items that come in sets. These items increase in value when they are part of the complete set. If you can take some time gathering a whole set or even key pieces to a set, you can sell them for a lot of money. Always keep an eye out for sets even if they are part of an armor type you can not wear yourself. Buying in Bulk Buying in bulk can save you a lot on things you need. You can also make money from buying and reselling. As a rule, you should remember to buy low and sell high! Whenever you have the opportunity to buy bulk items or stacks of cloth, etc. you should take advantage of you. When you resell, you can split things up and sell for more. 

Hard to Find Items  As you may already know, you can make a lot of money from hard to find items. When you learn how to get a hard to find item, you can continue to get it over and over again and selling it for huge profits. There are many different items within the game that people will pay good money for. Find out what these items are and spend some time just going to get them. 

Trade Skill Items  Items that people need to level up their trade skills are always good items to make money from. If you have cloth but you are not a tailor, HOLD ONTO IT! Don’t just sell it to a vendor. You can make a lot of money off of that cloth.  There are many people out there who want to level their professions quickly and if you have items that they need, they might just buy them off of you instead of hunting for them. Cloth is a perfect example because some types of cloth are hard to get. This makes them worth more. For example, a stack of Mageweave can go for 1-3 gold easily. You have 2 trade skills you can learn! Make use of them, If your going to want some extra cash that you have to spend on items or training then it is suggested that you start your profession of choice! There are a couple things to do before you pick your skills. 

 Make sure your skills are complementary to each other if you picking up something like blacksmithing, leatherworking, engineering, or Alchemy. If you’re going to pick up Blacksmithing, it is highly suggested you pick up

World Of Warcraft Mastery – Gold Making Guide mining so you don’t always have to be looking for materials and paying out the buttocks for one.  If you aren’t really into crafting, don’t go into it! It isn’t worth wasting one of your 2 possible main skills on! Skills are meant to be useful and help you out, if you’re not going to use it pick up something easy to work with such as skinning. 

 Make sure you go from Journeyman to Expert to Artisan as soon as you can! If you are maxed on skill (Except for once there is no more to learn) you’re wasting what could be potential levels. (Just search www.thottbot.com for skinning trainers in the major cities you can just ask a guard and look at your map and there will be a red flag for where his exact location is) Like any other profession keep up to date on your skills.

Skinning as a Skill One skill of the two skills that is highly advisable to grab is skinning.  People will pay a good amount for the hides that you skin off a creature. Leveling skinning is easy too!  One of the reasons Skinning is a great skill is because you can incorporate skinning into leveling your character as you go your merry way.  You can sell Medium leather to another player at approximately 2 – 3 silver depending on how desperate you are. 

World Of Warcraft Mastery – Gold Making Guide  Medium hide doesn’t really sell well to players but can be sold for 1.5 silver a piece to vendors. In a typical night in the wetlands you could loot approximately 50 medium leathers and about 15 hides. That’s anywhere between 1.15 gold and 1.75 gold. 

 Skinning only requires you to buy a knife which costs 79 copper at a general vendor. That’s roughly 1 gold and 15 silver that can be spent on training! All you have to do is find a buyer! If you are having trouble finding a buyer just throw it up on the auction house in Ironforge or the one in Horde place. Mining as a Skill Mining is a great skill to learn because some materials can sell for a pretty penny!  Just like skinning mining requires virtually no work for the player! All you have to do is run up to a vein and mine it.  Ore sells for anywhere from 5 copper (copper) to 5 silver (Gold) but bars can sell for more depending on the item used. So even at a low level it is 100% profit unlike the crafting professions where you may need to take into account material costs  Minerals are usually found on rocky surfaces and sometimes underwater-Just turn on your find minerals and it will highlight them with a gold dot on your mini map 

Interacting with others So you have all those items and you have no clue what to do with them? You could put the item in trade channel ( /2 then shift+click the item ) or you could put it in the auction house. For example, you could sell Moss Agate for 1 gold in the auction house when it may only fetch offers of as low as 20 silver when put up in general chat!  Other players are a great way to sell items. Whether you’re putting it up for trade in the auction house or you are selling it through the trade channel you’re getting more then you would get from an npc.  When selling to another player be kind and courteous, accept all offers and if it isn’t high enough don’t be a jerk kindly say no and ask if they could go any higher. Remember your job is to sell your product, when you want to sell a car would you be a jerk to the buyer?  When using the auction house make sure you list your items at a time of day where there is a lot of traffic! Don’t list an item at 3am and have it end at 11am! If you’re going to only have time to list items in the early morning make sure you do longer auctions so you get the traffic you deserve!  Start it at a good price so it can get into a bidding war! Start it at the minimum you would get from a vendor (Usually will do that for you).  Do a little market research before you post your item! If you see there are a lot of them maybe you should hold off a little while before you put the item up for grabs! 
