It performs the conventional function of an introduction to International Law and Governance course, laying the foundations for understanding the role of law, public policies and legal institutions in world politics. Policy makers need to know about International Law in order to understand and act in world politics. They need to know for example how major changes in public policy take place or why some public policy reforms succeed while others fail or decline for decades.
