Mecanismos de videovigilancia en la sociedad de la información

Resumen
Tanto en la ficción como en la vida cotidiana, la capacidad de poder registrar cuanto se hace para poder dar fe de aquello que se hizo es una posibilidad nada remota. Con ayuda de sistemas altamente sofisticados, la mirada penetra cada vez más en nuestras prácticas sociales. Y las registra y almacena para que puedan ser utilizadas más adelante. La sutileza del mecanismo es tal que contribuimos a ello mediante el uso que hacemos de esa misma tecnología, entonces registramos, hacemos fotos y grabamos continuamente. En ese sentido, para el Estado, el concepto de videovigilancia constituye un aparato de control que le permite dar cuenta de esas formas de hacer que tiene su población. También es verdad que el uso e implementación de sistemas de videovigilancia en la sociedad actual parecen admitirse en lo que se refiere a salvaguardar la seguridad de la ciudadanía, pues confiere veracidad a los hechos y permite reconstruir la realidad. Pero al mismo tiempo, otra mirada al respecto nos puede desvelar que dichos sistemas pueden perfectamente responder a una estructura cuyo objetivo es la posibilidad de establecer un mecanismo de control de sus habitantes.
Abstract
Both in fiction and in everyday life, the ability to record everything that is done to be able to vouch for what happened is by no means a remote possibility. With the help of highly sophisticated systems, the camera penetrates our social practices more and more. And it records and stores them so that they can be used in the future. The subtlety of the mechanism is such that we contribute to it through the use we make of this very technology, as we continually record, take photographs and save. In this sense, the concept of video-surveillance constitutes a control device by the State to monitor the ways that its population has of doing things. It is also true that the use and implementation of video-surveillance systems in today?s society appears to be allowed in terms of ensuring people?s safety as it drags veracity out of the events and enables reality to be reconstructed. But, at the same time, another look at it may reveal to us that these systems may respond perfectly to a structure aimed at the possibility of establishing a mechanism to control its inhabitants
