FORGES A NEW PATH FOR FLORIDA ByMatthew Brickman Matthew Brickman, a leading family and divorce mediator in Florida and founder of iMediate Inc., has helped to support same-sex marriage quality for gay marriage and divorce being one of the first mediation groups to provide premarital marriage education and divorce mediation to the LGBT community. WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-Feb. 2, 2016-- Same-sex marriage in Florida became legal on January 6, 2015, as a result of a temporary injunction issued by a U.S. district court in the case of Brenner v. Scott, in which the state'ssame-sex marriage banhad been found unconstitutional on August 21, 2014. As iMediate Inc began to offer same-sex pre-marriage education and same-sex divorce mediation services. Matthew Brickman was one of the first to publicly address the issue in Florida where none of the 10 family court judges in the 15th Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County) would be signing off on any same-sex divorces until the Supreme Court later in 2015. On June 26th, the US Supreme Court has struck down the bans on same-sex marriage in ahistoric 5-4 ruling. In the State of Florida this meant that the gay, lesbian and transgender community can get married and also get divorced as well.
