Libros, bibliotecas y propaganda nazi en el primer franquismo: las Exposiciones del Libro Alemán

Resumen
El artículo pretende contribuir al estudio de las relaciones entre España y Alemania durante la guerra civil española y su inmediata posguerra desde la perspectiva cultural, en concreto, a partir del análisis de las Exposiciones del Libro Alemán que el Tercer Reich organizó en los años 1937-1940 en diversas ciudades españolas. Además de poner de relieve su instrumentalización propagandística como parte fundamental de la política cultural exterior nazi y como ?discreto? medio de influencia en países bajo su órbita de intereses, tal y como era España, la aproximación a las exposiciones pone de manifiesto la compleja red de actividades de la comunidad alemana asentada en España. Por otra parte, el estudio contextualizado de las exposiciones refleja las tensiones ideológicas que provocaron entre Falange, a cargo de las actividades de propaganda en el primer franquismo, y los sectores más católicos del Nuevo Orden pues coincidieron con la puesta en marcha del aparato propagandístico y de los fundamentos ideológicos del nuevo régimen en España.
Abstract
This article aims to contribute to the study of the Spanish-German relations during the Spanish civil war and its immediate post-war period from a cultural perspective, in concrete, through the analysis of the so-called Exhibitions of the German Book which the Third Reich held in several cities across Spain in the years between 1937 and 1940. In addition to showing how national-socialism made a propagandistic use of the Exhibitions of the German Book as a fundamental part of its cultural policy abroad and as a discreet means of influence in countries where Nazi Germany had vested interests, as it was the case of Spain, this study reveals the complex network of activities by the German community settled down in Spain. On the other hand, the contextualized analysis of the exhibitions sheds light on the ideological tensions that they provoked between Falange, responsible for propaganda during the first Franquismo, and the most catholic families within the New Order as they coincided with the launch of the propagandistic efforts and the laying of the ideological foundations of the new regime in Spain.
