La redacción del discurso biomédico (inglés-español): rasgos principales (English-Spanish biomedical discourse: Main features)

Este artículo tiene como principal objetivo la búsqueda de diferencias y similitudes en la redacción biomédica en inglés y en español. Para lograr tal objetivo, he analizado un corpus bilingüe formado por 200 textos biomédicos (25 Letters to the editor, 25 Cartas al director, 25 Editorials, 25 Editoriales, 25 Originals, 25 Originales, 25 Reviews y 25 Revisiones). Al estudiar dichos textos y analizar los resultados, he observado que presentan abundantes aspectos en común y algunas diferencias. Mediante este estudio pretendo poner de manifiesto la utilidad del conocimiento de rasgos discursivos para la formación en traducción médica.
Abstract
The main purpose of this article is to look for differences and similarities in biomedical writing in English and Spanish. In order to achieve this goal, I analysed a bilingual corpus comprised of 200 biomedical texts (25 Letters to the Editor, 25 Cartas al director, 25 Editorials, 25 Editoriales, 25 Originals, 25 Originales, 25 Reviews, and 25 Revisiones). After studying these texts and analyzing the results, I found many common features and some differences. Through this study I seek to show the usefulness of knowing discursive features for medical translation training.
