El patrimonio sorbo a sorbo. Gestión de turismo cultural sostenible para la región de Tequila

Resumen
La reciente declaratoria del Paisaje Agavero y las antiguas instalaciones industriales del Te-quila como patrimonio mundial de la humanidad, ofrece una gran oportunidad de desarrollo pero tam-bién representa una amenaza para la región. Si no se planifica una explotación adecuada de los bienes culturales, involucrando a la comunidad anfitriona (población, agaveros, tequileros) en las oportunidades de beneficio que se presenten y sobre todo, reinvirtiendo parte de los recursos económicos generados por los visitantes en la restauración y conservación de su patrimonio cultural (materia prima y sustento del turismo cultural), los beneficios pueden ser limitados, causar conflictos internos y daños irreversibles. Estas son algunas reflexiones sobre la importancia de planificar ahora y lograr un desarrollo ordenado y equitativo después.
Abstract
The recent declaration of the Agave landscape and the ancient industrial facilities of Tequila as a world heritage site presents a great opportunity for development, but at the same time constitutes a threat to the region. It is vital to plan suitable exploitation of the cultural goods, involving the hosting local community (population, agave farmers, tequila producers) in the economic and social opportunities which present themselves, and above all, reinvesting part of the revenue generated by visitors in the restoration and conservation of its cultural heritage (raw material and support of cultural tourism). If suitable planning is not undertaken, the benefits could be limited, and it may provoke internal conflicts and irreversible damage. These are some reflections on the importance of planning now and then conse-quently achieving well-planned and equitable development.
