Description
Abstract
The present study was carried out in the Center of Investigation and Production “La Raya”, with the objective of knowing the percentage of fertility in alpacas inseminated artificially with frozen semen at the 24, 30 and 36 hours post induction to the ovulation with vasectomized male, depositing the semen in the body of the uterus and the ipsilateral horn to the follicle ovulatório. The artificial insemination was carried out for the method rectovaginal, the straws of 0.25 ml contained 5 million of sperms whose unfreezing was carried out in hot water at 37°C for 30 seconds approximately. The diagnoses of gestation was carried out to the 22 days by ultrasonic technics with transducer of 5 MHz. The results analyzed through the test of X2 the following results: The fertility in alpacas inseminated at 24, 30 and 36 were 0.0, 25.0 and 15.78% respectively, there being significant differences among them (P 0.05). The fertility in alpacas where the semen was deposited at level of the body of the uterus it was of 10.34% and in the ipsilateral horn to the ovulatory follicle was 16.6% being statistically similar (P > 0.05).
