Educar para la tolerancia, educar para la convivencia. (Educating for tolerance, educating for coexistence)

Resumen
A partir de un análisis y reconceptualización del significado de un término tan necesario en la sociedad actual como el de tolerancia, este artículo pretende ofrecer reflexiones sobre algunas repercusiones de esta concepción para la convivencia en las instituciones educativas. Se diseccionan aspectos tales como la visión activa de la tolerancia, sus límites y sus implicaciones educativas. Finalmente, en este sentido se hace énfasis en la necesidad de una tolerancia activa para una educación en valores y democrática, la necesidad de incorporar estrategias comunicativas para su desarrollo pedagógico, así como su carácter dialéctico y convivencial.
Abstract
From an analysis of the meaning of a so necessary word in our society as tolerance, this article tries to think about some impacts of this concept for the coexistence in educative institutions. It offers considerations about an active point of view, limits and educative implications of tolerance. Finally, in this respect, emphasis is done in the need of an active tolerance for a democratic education in values, the need to incorporate communicative strategies for its pedagogic development, as well as its dialectical and coexistential character
