Caracterização da criação de suínos locais em sistema de utilização tradicional no estado da Paraíba, Brasil (Characterization of the local pig creation in traditional system in the state of the Paraíba, Brazil)

Resumo
Este trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar a situação de criação dos suínos locais, através da aplicação de questionários semi-estruturados, no município de Remígio, no estado da Paraíba, Brasil. Observou-se que esta região caracteriza-se por unidades de produção agrária familiar com 91,4 p.100 da mão-de-obra familiar e 86,2 p.100 das unidades localiza-se na zona rural, sendo que 87,9 p.100 dos entrevistados eram proprietários. Observou-se que 62,1 p.100 dos criadores não recebem assistência técnica e em 98,3 p.100 das unidades não há inspeção por nenhum órgão. Espera-se com a continuidade deste trabalho caracterizar os suínos naturalizados, existentes na Paraíba, conscientizar os produtores rurais sobre a importância da conservação genética desses animais e, finalmente constituir o primeiro banco de dados da região que dê suporte a programas de conservação genética dos suínos.
Abstract
This work had as objective to characterize the situation of the local pigs breeding, through the application of half-structuralized questionnaires, in the city of Remígio, Paraíba, Brazil. It was observed that this region is characterized for units of familiar agrarian production with 91.4 percent of the familiar man power and 86.2 percent of the units be situated in the agricultural zone, being that 87.9 percent. It was observed that 62.1 percent of the creators do not receive assistance technique and in 98.3 percent of the units does not have inspection for no agency. This work will being to characterize naturalized pigs, existing in the Paraíba, to acquire knowledge the agricultural producers on the importance of the genetic conservation of these animals and, finally to constitute the first data base of the region that gives to support the programs of pigs genetic conservation.
