ƒƒƒƒ 17 AUDIT AND BEST VALUE REPORT OF THE SCRUTINY COMMITTEE FOR AUDIT AND BEST VALUE The Committee met on 15 March 2006. Attendances:- Councillor Tutt (Chairman) Councillors Birch, Livings, Sparks and Stogdon. 1 Best Value Review of Local Provision for Adults with Learning Disabilities 1.1 The Committee has completed its Best Value Review of Local Provision for Adults with Learning Disabilities. The full report has been previously circulated to all members and copies are also available on request from Mary Clarke, telephone 01273 481587. 1.2 The programme of Best Value reviews for 2003/2004 agreed by Cabinet in November 2005 identified a review into local provision for adults with learning disabilities in East Sussex. This review was commissioned by the Audit and Best Value Scrutiny Committee on 14 September 2004. At this point a temporary Project Board prepared the initial scope of the review. 1.3 Due to County Council elections, the progress of the review was delayed. The previous Project Board was disbanded and a new Project Board took the review forward. 1.4 The main scope was to review and make recommendations on the following areas: Process of Person Centred Planning – the reality of meeting the requirements set out in the government white paper; ‘Valuing people’.
