Double Glazing Industry in the North West
Given Huge Boost by Council Plans
PR Newswire
CHESTER, England, June 7, 2012
CHESTER, England
,
June 7, 2012
/PRNewswire/ --
Sites such as Double Glazing Prices have been extolling the virtues of a piece of
legislature signed in the North West which has seen orders for double glazing
windows and doors sky rocket. Council plans have meant that up to 1,200
residents in
West Lancashire
will get new double glazing and doors for their
homes.
The news has not only come as music to the ears of suppliers of quality double
glazing, but also tenants who can look forward to cheaper heating bills this
winter. Many residents are hopeful of having their new double glazed windows
installed in time for Christmas, meaning that their extra cash could well
contribute to yuletide joy.
The news has come about as a result of West Lancashire Borough Council
signing a £4 million contract with a refurbishment and regeneration specialist
company.
Work on the new homes will begin straight away and once finished, will result in
every West Lancashire Council house having brand new and totally efficient
double glazing.
This scheme is the first stage of a £60 million investment programme in the
authority's homes over the next five years and heralds the start of some
brighter times for the
West Lancashire
community.
Cllr Adrian Owens is the Portfolio Holder for Housing (Finance), Regeneration
and Estates and had the following to say of the issue; "The decision to invest in
replacement windows and doors was made in agreement with tenants and was
identified as a priority for improvement following a comprehensive stock
survey.
"At a recent consultation event, tenants confirmed that energy efficiency was
their top priority for investment.
