Deutsche Telekom Wins New Messaging Service Contract From BP PR Newswire LONDON, July 19, 2012 LONDON, July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global messaging services will provide a foundation for enhanced collaboration New contract enables BP's use of cloud for email services Over 83,000 BP end users will communicate via cloud Deutsche Telekom (DT) has won a contract with BP to supply cloud messaging services to more than 83,000 employees. DT's corporate customer division T- Systems will provide Exchange 2010 to BP employees around the globe. The secure private cloud will support access to email from a range of mobile and computer devices used by employees in all areas of BP. Under the five year contract, T-Systems will move BP's Exchange 2003 to an Exchange 2010 service equipping BP's users with enhanced capabilities. The cloud service will enable BP to enjoy greater cost transparency through a "pay- per-use" model linked to the consumption of services provided. Automation will also enable BP to add or remove large numbers of users to the service almost instantaneously. The combination of enterprise scalability with industrialized operations will provide BP with a reliable, secure and cost-efficient model for its messaging services. The contract represents a key milestone for BP.
