(CITI) today announced the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) has selected CITI and manageID®, a family of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) identity management, credentialing and access control software products, for the Theater Access Control and Threat Identification (TACTIC) Program. TACTIC will leverage manageID and complementary professional services to ensure that key in-theater mission-critical requirements are met. These include theatre-standardized enrollment systems and processes, theatre-standardized member badges, a common badge management database, and improved access control capabilities. The common NATO-issued badge will reduce the number of different badges currently in use and establish a clear status for a member throughout theatre. The more secure badge and an electronic badge verification capability will reduce the risk of individuals gaining unauthorized access to NATO installations and secure areas.
