Introduction The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has invited public submissions in relation to its Discussion Paper entitled 'Enhancing the Population Census: Developing a Longitudinal View' (Discussion Paper 2060.0, 26 April 2005). The Discussion Paper proposes changes to the census, primarily by way of creating a Statistical Longitudinal Census Dataset (SLCD). This Submission in response to the Discussion Paper has been prepared by the Australian Privacy Foundation (APF).
