Sir Reginald Fitzurse begins the story of his life.

Chapter 2 | THE KING AND HIS FRIEND
King Henry falls out with his friend, Thomas Becket.

Chapter 3 | DON’T GET INVOLVED
Reginald’s wife urges him to stay out of the squabble between Archbishop Becket and the King, but Reginald needs the King on his side.

Chapter 4 | WILL NO ONE RID ME …?
Finally, fed up with Becket’s infuriating behaviour, the King wonders whether anyone will get rid of the Archbishop for him.

Chapter 5 | MY GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY
Reginald and three other knights travel to Canterbury to take up the King’s request.

Chapter 6 | THE TRAITOR
Finding Becket in his palace, the four knights argue with him, calling him a traitor.

Chapter 7 | MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL

The knights follow Becket into the cathedral and try to arrest him. The move goes wrong and Becket is murdered.

Chapter 8 | I AWAIT MY FATE
As people begin to say Becket was a saint, the four knights realise what a terrible thing they have done. At the Pope’s advice, they go to Jerusalem.
